Services include General Physiotherapy, Sports Injuries, EPC (Chronic Disease Care Plans), Workcover claims, Lymphoedema management, Women’s Health, Hydrotherapy, NDIS and DVA Patients.

We offer other allied health services including podiatry, occupational therapy, massage therapy and orthotist/prosthetist.

Our Team

Joy Young (Principal Physio)

Joy became the principal physio at Cooloola Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine after acquiring the practice in 2004.

Joy graduated from the University of Queensland in 1988, and has spent most of her working career in private practices in both Gympie and Brisbane as well as in the public health system and Community Domiciliary Physio Services.

Joy enjoys treating all areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Joy also has a special interest in the treatment of Lymphoedema, both primary and secondary, and gained her Accredited Lymphoedema practitioner certification from the ALA in 2020. Joy loves the privilege of being able to help people improve their quality of life with physiotherapy.

Teresa scott (physiotherapist)

Teresa has completed a Master of Physiotherapy at Flinders University and Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Charles Sturt University.

Teresa's special interest is Osteoarthritis and she has recently undergone training to deliver the GLA:D program, which is aimed at managing osteoarthritis in the hip and knee. 

Teresa also enjoys recreational running and looks forward to supporting clients to remain active throughout the lifespan.

nathan beasy (Podiatrist)

Nathan is the Principal Podiatrist at PODActive. He also has qualifications in Personal Training and Sports & Remedial Massage, and over ten years experience treating patients of all ages and conditions. This experience means he has a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the biomechanics of the rest of the human body which enhances his ability to treat your lower limb problems. Nathan performs all podiatry services including, orthotic therapy, mobilisation & dry needling, Ingrown nails/surgery, diabetic foot care and more. His genuine care and drive to fix the underlying problem is something complimented on often by his existing patients.

CHRISTINE CUMERFORD (OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST)

Christine is an experienced Occupational Therapist and Hand Therapist and is the Principal of “Cooloola Hand Therapy”.

Millie Kratochvil (Massage Therapist)

Millie has over 20 years experience as a Qualified Massage Therapist. Millie can provide Remedial Massage, Deep Tissue Massage and Body Re-Alignment using Finch Therapy.

 

monica hille (massage therapist)

Monica has over 20 years experience as Diploma Qualified Remedial Massage Therapist and a Diploma in Pilates.
